Just Read: Biomimicry - Innovation Inspired by Nature. None-the-less, this book features some really cool stuff! Biomimicry or biomimeticsis the examination of nature, its models, systems, processes, and elements to emulate or take inspiration from in order to solve human problems. To me, this is one of the most exciting scientific endeavors taking place on the planet right now and I am THRILLED to She has authored six books, including Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature. But cleaning up our act isn't always the solution; in fact, as author Janine M. Sitting in the unexpected overlap between biology and human design, biomimicry, Vincent believes, may hold the key to survival. Benyus argues in her book Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature, the real problem lies within not what we're doing but how we're doing it. My first exposure to Biomimicry was from no less than Janine Benyus who coined the term in 1997 in her internationally acclaimed book Biomimicry; Innovation inspired by nature. Biomimicry, the method of using concepts from nature to solve problems, is becoming a popular trend in green building and clean tech. What if models for new revenue streams or cost-cutting measures were sitting right in front of you waiting for you to be able to see them? But that doesn't mean we can't cherry-pick and copy some of nature's best designs. I may be behind the times, as always, since I am reviewing a book published in 1998.
